Earlier this year, it was announced that Meganet Communications would be retiring the Cape.com domain name in effort to bring all services under the Meganet.net domain name.
As the retirement date of November 1st approaches, we want to make sure you’re ready by having your email settings updated as soon as possible.
At the current time (and this only applies if you’re checking email on a mobile device or email client like Outlook), your mail server settings should look as follows:
- Incoming mail server: mail.meganet.net or pop.meganet.net
- Outgoing mail server: smtp.meganet.net
Port numbers may stay the same. All other settings can remain the same as well, apart from the email address itself. You may wish to change the email address field to reflect @meganet.net on November 1st, or now. It is up to you.
So what happens on November 1st? Anyone sending mail to your @cape.com will receive a notice indicating the mail did not get through. They will instead need to email you at your @meganet.net email address.
Users who check mail on webmail needn’t make any changes.
If you have any questions, we are available via live chat (where we can also remotely access your computer to help you out) at http://support.meganet.net/.
