Cape.com Domain Retirement

An e-mail notice with the below information was sent to customers on June 8th, 2016.

On the 1st of November, the Cape.com domain name will be retired, and will no longer be available for email use by our customers. We have finished the process of ensuring that all @cape.com email addresses will function as an @meganet.net email.

If you check your email using webmail, the updated webmail login link will be http://webmail.meganet.net/.

If you check your email using an email client like Microsoft Outlook or Mac Mail, the updated incoming/outgoing server addresses (which can be found in your account settings) are:

Incoming: pop.meganet.net
Outgoing: smtp.meganet.net

Outlook 2007 Users: Changing email server settings in Outlook 2007
Mac Mail Users: Access Mail from the top menu > Preferences > Change the incoming address, then click the drop-down menu in the Outgoing Mail Server section and select Edit SMTP Server List… Change the Server Name to the outgoing address noted above. Click OK to save your settings.
iPhone/iPad Users: Access the Settings app, select Mail, Contacts, Calendars, select your account, modify the Incoming Mail Server Host Name to the above address. Then tap on the SMTP server, select the address listed in the Primary category, and modify the server address accordingly.

If you are having trouble, please start a remote session with us at http://support.meganet.net/ so that we may remotely access your system and make the changes for you.

In addition, you will need to change your email address in your account settings. For example: if your email address is myuser@cape.com, you’ll want to change it to myuser@meganet.net. This ensures that when you send email, the recipient doesn’t reply back to myuser@cape.com (which would not be delivered to you beginning on November 1st).

You will have until the above-noted date to notify individuals on your contact list of your email address change. After that point in time, any messages sent to an @cape.com email address will not be delivered and will be returned to the sender.

Please also remember to update your email account with your banking institution, online shopping websites, social media pages, etc.

Customers with custom domain names (example: myuser@mybusinessname.com) will not have to notify contacts of any email address change.
